Author Topic: December 2024 - Indiana Jones and the Great Circle/Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind  (Read 165 times)

I've already starting IJ since I bought the premium edition for early access. It's fantastic. The hand-to-hand combat is the best. I love beating the shit out of Nazis and I love the mo-capped animations of them stumbling. Troy Baker is fantastic doing an impression of Harrison Ford. This guy's career took off with TLoU eleven years ago. Back to the game - the exploration is very immersive and the graphics are photorealistic. The opening is a shot-for-shot remake of the opening of Raiders (save for the removal of some shots to allow you to play instead). The game is out tomorrow.

Rita's Rewind (out Tuesday) will be a love letter to 90s beat 'em ups, especially the SNES games. The game plays a lot like TMNT: Shredder's Revenge, which came out just three years ago.

I'll probably check out Indiana Jones down the road when I get Game Pass again, but looking forward to Power Rangers as I feel like they've always had kinda functionally fine, but never super great games for Power Rangers, and this one looks like they are doing some fun things with it.

As PS5 is the only system I have that can run modern games, I'll have to wait till spring to play the new Indy... assuming that's when it releases on PS5. I'm not anticipating any game purchases until then. In fact... my 2025 list is looking like the following:

 - Indiana Jones (PS5)
 - Instinction (PS5) --assuming it actually releases
 - Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered (PS5) -- assuming there's a physical version released
 - Switch 2 System -- assuming it releases
 - 1 or 2 Switch 2 games? -- Not sure what they would be

That's it for 2025 as far as I'm aware. Yeah... the entire year. Modern gaming pales in comparison to previous eras of gaming.
