It's time to look over our pickups from 2025 and list the top video game items you added to your collection this year.
You don't have to list all 30 (not everyone gets thousands of games like me in a year) List your top 5-30 items you added to your collection.
You can base them on value, rarity, Always wanted, Favorite you played, its your list, just list what made you excited to get in 2025.
30. Ide Yosuke no Mahjong Juku (N64)A Mahjong game on my favorite list? Well I'm slowly going for every Japanese exclusive N64 game.
This game was one of the rarest for Japanese N64 and I was a really not looking forward to paying $250+ for this game.
But I saw this game going for under $100 and had to get it off the list. Expect a lot of Japanese games on this list I was getting a
lot of deals on them this year.
29. Looney Tunes B-Ball (SNES)I found a lot of boxed SNES games at a garage sale and there was one I didn't have.
Just excited I found a CIB game I didn't have at a garage sale.
If I found it loose at full price at a game store it's probably wouldn't be on this list, but CIB at a garage sale. oh ya.
28. Crime Crackers (PS1)This was a Japanese game that has been on my most wanted list for a long time. It's not an expensive game but getting these games for a
quarter of the price it sells for made me happy.
27. Crime Crackers 2 (PS1)Again I saw the sequel for cheap and had to get both games to my collection. I watched a video that these games where hidden gems
on PS1 years ago and it was on my hit list for years.
26. Policenauts (PS1 & 3DO)I've had Policenauts on my Japanese hit list for awhile, again not super expensive but I got a copy for both PS1 and 3DO for dirt cheap.
25. The Game Paradise 2 (PS1)I love Shumps and this one was on my list of wanted Japanese games and when it appeared for sale for real cheap I was excited.
24. Akumajou Special: Boku Dracula-kun (GB)This is Kid Dracula Japanese version. I own Kid Dracula, but I had a shot to get the Japanese version CIB for a quarter the price it goes for I had to get it.
23. New Zealand Story (MD)A Japanese exclusive CIB Mega Drive game for dirt cheap? I was surprised I won this game for as cheap as I got it.
22. Tecmo Super Bowl IIThis was one of those games that's rare and a sports game, I saw an open auction and I got it for about half its value.
But then it disappeared, Mailman supposed to have delivered it but I never got it. I felt bad but I had to put in for a refund.
Then 2 MONTHS LATER... A Guy knocks on my door and hands me a package then slowly walks away. I open the package and its the game.
I think one of my neighbors got it and sat on it for 2 months before returning it. Well I guess I got it for free.
21. The Firemen 2 (PS1)This is a hidden gem on PS1, A sequel to a Super Famicom game. A game that normally goes for $50 and I got it for $8.
Was so happy to get this. A fun game that never got a release outside Japan.
20. Go Go Ackman 3I've been trying to get all three Ackman games, They used to be cheap but shot up in value after curtain YouTubers told everyone that
they are hidden gems. I was happy to get this for so much cheaper then online.
19. Atari 7800 PlusA family member got this for me as a gift, It's so nice to have to play all Atari 2600/7800 games on HDTV's.
18. Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires' Conspiracy(3DS)I bought a huge lot of 3DS and NDS games at a garage sale and this was the one Layton game I was missing. (the other is on this list)
Whenever I get an obscure game I don't have from a garage sale for dirt cheap I get excited.
17. Mario Kart World (SWITCH 2)I know this game gets some hate, But I love Mario Kart Games. I played the crap out of this game.
16. Minesweeper (GB)My Bro is a Minesweeper pro, he can clear a map in seconds. I always wanted a console minesweeper and far as I found, 2 where made.
One on PCE and one on Gameboy in Japan. The GB version is a $100+ for a loose cart. When I saw a CIB show up for $60 I grabbed it up.
15. Samurai Champloo: Sidetracked (PS2)I was at a garage sale and got talking to the guy there and he lets me see his game collection, he said if I wanted to buy anything I could make an offer.
I see this game and I still needed it in my collection. I gave him an offer for about half of what it sold for and he was good with that.
14. Metroid Prime 4 Beyond (SW2)While the game has one part that annoys me, I overall loved the game. I'm just excited a new Metroid Prime game finally came out.
While not better then the first one, still I overall enjoyed it. The game excited me to get and play so I'm putting it on the list.
13. Castlevania (MSX)I've always wanted Castlevania for the MSX, IDK why. when I saw this going at a heavy discount I had to get it in my collection.
12. Puzzle Boy II (GB)Another GB game I got CIB for WAY under its value. A cart alone is $100. It's the Japanese version of Amazing Tater.
I still need a US Amazing Tater in my collection, Puzzle Boy II will do for now.
11. Ketsui: Kizuna Jigoku Tachi Extra (XB360)This was a game I got for cheap and had no idea what it was from the cover. It a Bullet Hell Shump.
I Was very happy to get this game I had no idea existed. I had a lot of fun with this game.
10. DoDonPachi DaiOuJou Black Label Extra (XB360)Another Shump I wanted that was a Japanese exclusive. (on XB360)
I always love finding Japanese Shumps not released in the US.
9. Avenger (PCE)A PCE Shump I never played, I got this for cheap, A $50 game for $10? Yes please.
8. Splatterhouse: Wanpaku Graffiti (FAM)I had a reproduction cart from RetroUSB I got years ago but always wanted an original Famicom copy.
I finally saw a copy for about half of what it goes for and got it in my collection.
7. Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy (3DS)A $120 game I didn't have in my collection for $10 from a garage sale!!! Hell ya!
The craziest part is they had TWO COPIES!!
6. Nintendo Switch 2I've been wanting an upgraded Switch for a long time. I loved the first one but it was getting dated. Plays most of my Switch 1 games a lot better.
I'm hoping to see less Keycards next year, but I'll support Switch 2 games that are on the cart for sure.
5. Hellfire S (PCE)Another Shump that is pricy for PCE for cheap. I love getting these.
4. PulseMan (MD)This was another CIB Mega Drive game that I couldn't say no to. It's been on my most wanted list for a long time.
When it appeared for a starting bid at half its going price and NO ONE ELSE BIDDED and I won it for a great price.
Great platformer that never left Japan.
3. Trip World (GB)This game just got a remake lot to long ago for new consoles, but the original was on Game Boy in Japan only.
I saw this to bid on and won it for about $300. This game goes for about $800 on eBay CIB. This game is a lot of fun.
2. Visteon Dockable Entertainment featuring Game Boy AdvanceI sold a ton of my extras at an expo and was looking online to what I wanted to buy and I saw this with the controller and Tossed a bid on and and I won it
for the price the system with no controller can sell for. Another odd console off my list. It's a portable DVD player with a GBA cart slot.
1. Sony Bravia PlayStation 2This is my most loved item I added to my collection. I always wanted this TV with built in PS2 but it was only released in Europe.
I saw an open bid show up and won it for way less then people sell it for. I was so happy I got to me in one piece.
I now use this to play my PAL PS1/PS2 games. (and even other PAL consoles.)
