| Description: | FASTCHIP from Newell Industries, replaces the preexisting math processing chip on the Atari 400 or Atari 800 computer's Operating System (OS) card (which is BASIC on a ROM cartridge). The FASTCHIP decreases the execution time of arithmetic operations, and thus can speed up an Atari 400 or Atari 800 computer anywhere from 23% to 41%, generally about 30%. No soldering required, the existing math processor chip can be popped out of the BASIC ROM cartridge and the FASTCHIP can be plugged right into place. |
